Dive medical, forms and other requirements.
For most of us there are few requirements to go diving.
If you want to learn to dive in Gozo, or would like to explore some of the island incredible dive sites, then here are the a few details on exactly what you will need to do to register or sign up.
Dive medical
Recreational scuba diving and freediving requires good physical and mental health. Before diving, you will need to complete a dive medical questionnaire. On the form there are a number of medical questions.
If you can answer NO to all of the questions, you are free to dive with no restrictions. If you answer YES to one or more of the questions, you may be asked to answer a few follow up questions. This could still result in being free to dive depending on your answers, or you may be asked to get your doctor to sign you off as free to dive.
You can complete the forms in advance or in the dive centre with us. If you have any questions get in touch and we will be happy to help. Further information relating to specific dive activities are listed below.
Discover Scuba Diving
Completing the medical questionnaire is enough to get started. You can do this digitally after registering through PADI’s app, and after doing so also have access to a short online lesson which will prepare you for the experience. You can access the digital forms via QR code, which will be sent to you on purchasing online through us, or enquiring through our contact form here.
Dive courses
If you are joining a course, that course may have some pre-requisites. Check the course description, under the heading ‘requirements’ to see if you meet them. For example, if you are looking to take the PADI Advanced Open Water Course, you would need the PADI Open Water certification, or equivalent, to start the course. You will also need to complete the medical form as described above.
Accompanied Diving
For certified divers simply wishing to enjoy diving in Gozo, completing the basic medical paperwork is enough.
